Synopsis

Enemy Ace takes up permanent residence in Star Spangled War Stories with a full ongoing series. Von Hammer faces a new generation of Allied aces determined to end his reign — including one pilot whose skill approaches his own. Their encounter is among the most tense aerial duels of the entire run.

Collector Notes

This issue marks the beginning of Enemy Ace's longest continuous run. Kanigher and Kubert settled into an assured rhythm — the aerial combat sequences grew longer and more technically detailed, while the introspective passages became more searching and philosophical.
